A-BOLT supports most common modelling strategy for bolt modelling based on Beam object. This native ANSYS Mechanical connection object represents simple and efficient way for bolt modelling. A-BOLT automatically extracts time history of internal forces for further assessment.

Bolt assessment is performed according to ECSS-E-HB-32-23A handbook “Threaded Fasteners Handbook” and VDI-2230 standard “Systematic analysis of highly loaded bolt connections“.

Postprocessing
A-BOLT results can be shown as contour plots on your FE-model. Currently, A-BOLT provides more than 25 results, including Margins of Safety, Preload, Axial Force, Shear Force, Gapping or Temperature Difference.
Detailed output ready for documentation
A-Bolt provides summary of Margins of Safety, Preload and used Safety Factors for all bolt groups. Each bolt group has its own detailed report documenting used bolt and counter parameters, flange configuration, loads and installation method.
